The Paint Branch of the Anacostia River is one of Montgomery County's larger streams. It is a major tributary to the Northeast Branch of the Anacostia River. It has headwaters in some small springs near Spencerville just south of Spencerville Road (MD-198), and flows generally southward towards its confluence with the Little Paint Branch and exits Montgomery County into Prince George's County.
