Events/2008/06/07/Groundbreaking Ceremony Mid-County Community Center

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett and members of the County Council will participate in a
groundbreakingceremony for the new Mid-County Community Recreation Center on Saturday, June 7 at 1 p.m. 
The ceremony will take place at 2004 Queensguard Road in Silver Spring.

The new 25,000-square-foot center is scheduled to open in the fall of 2009. Indoor facilities include 
a gymnasium, exercise room, social hall, kitchen, senior/community lounge, arts/kiln room, game room, 
vending space and conference room. Outdoor amenities include a large multi-purpose athletic field and a large 
hard surface play area suitable for basketball and volleyball.

The groundbreaking ceremony is open to the public. For more information call the
